For the first time ever, there is a replacement for the most commonly used type of light fitting in the UK. It combines the flexibility and effectiveness of the good old fluorescent light batten fitting with a lot of new ideas. Green Logic Solo and Duo use the very latest SMD LED technology to give you more light, whilst using a fraction of the energy.
Fluorescent tubes have done us proud for decades, but they have their drawbacks. They can need regular maintenance to avoid dangerous flickering, and do not like frequent on/off switching, so movement sensors can’t be used to increase energy efficiency. Our LED tubes are the fourth generation and bring amazing savings and improvements. The tube body is almost unbreakable polycarbonate, like riot shields, not dangerous and fragile glass. They contain no hazardous substances, like mercury, so do not create a disposal problem. They can be turned on as often and frequently as you like without shortening their life, and can be ordered in dimmable versions to “fine tune” the effect. They use a quarter of the power and last between 20 and 30 times as long as conventional tubes, and can produce light in any colour you choose, including accurate daylight or cosy, warm white.
Now we have a pair of surface (or suspension) mounted batten fittings designed specifically for these LED tubes. They don’t need starters, ballasts or any of the other things that make conventional fittings heavy and bulky, so they are surprisingly light and slim. They are also beautiful, and may persuade you to use a batten fitting in places that you would normally have thought would need something much more expensive. They are quick and easy to fit, and can be a straighforward replacement for an existing fitting. They just need securing ( 2 screws) and a 240 volt supply, and they will then work for a full 5 years without maintenance – guaranteed!
The Green Logic Solo and Duo are both 1200mm long, and give light equivalent to a conventional 5 ft fluorescent light fitting, but they only use 18 watts ( Solo) or 36 watts (Duo). Their very slim and lightweight construction allows them to be used on low ceilings and where the mounting surface is not strong enough for a conventional fitment. If you need plenty of good quality light, use the Solo. If you need even more light, perhaps for illuminating a detail work area, use the Duo.
Green Logic Solo and Duo give you total flexibility. If your use of an area changes, you don’t need to change the fitting. Just order tubes of a different colour or power rating, or dimmable, or even remote control, colour changing RGB tubes.
